Intercession Vol 2 : Entering in by His Blood 8 Hours, 35 Minutes ago Karma: 1
Hebrews 9: 11-15
…But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the MEDIATOR of the new testament…”

In order to be an effective intercessor, one must have a revelation of the Blood. As we studied last week, intercession is the act of mediating or re-presenting a broken situation to God through the redemptive work of Christ. An intercessor cannot do this but by the Blood of Christ. The Blood of Christ is His redemptive work. As the scripture states above, Christ came to purge, not just the flesh, but the conscience.
The biblical symbol or representation of prayer is the altar of incense. The altar of incense was the tallest article of furniture in the temple of Solomon. This speaks to us prophetically that prayer is the highest ministry of God one can receive. It must be remembered that Christ “ever liveth to make intercession for the saints” (Hebrew 7:25). When the altar of incense released its sweet savor in the house of God, it rose beyond the veil into the most holy place, the very throne room of God. According to the bible, this sweet smelling incense rose before God, in the heavenly temple, with the prayers of the saints (Revelations 8:4). Prophetically, this speaks of the intercessor literally going beyond the veil, into the throne room of God to make petition to him about a matter. Yet, how can this be, seeing we are not high priests?

Once a year the high priest went before God to make intercession, or mediation, for the sins of the people by sprinkling blood on the throne of God – thus entering in before the very splendor of God by the blood of an animal sacrifice. Yet Christ , who was sinless, has entered once and mediated, or interceded, on behalf of our sins, thus making atonement by his pure Blood. This act has thus made it possible for us to come to God in prayer. This is why this is the ONLY way to the father, because his redemptive work of Blood has now given us access.

Hebrews 10:19
“…Having therefore, bretheren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, BY A NEW AND LIVING WAY, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say his flesh…”

Thus, as intercessors, the only way our prayers will get heard is through the Blood of Jesus, remembering and reminding God of His shed blood. Thus, to have an audience with God, you have been given access now. You can stand boldly – why? Because the Blood of Jesus has made you free from sin!!!

We enter in to the throne room by reminding ourselves, and God, that Jesus has purified us from sin. Remember, the bible says that no flesh will tarry in God’s presence. This is why God killed one of David’s men when touched the arc of the covenant. As a result, Christ has made a way for us to enter before God to have an audience with Him without dying.

Hebrews 4:16
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
