- Intercession is the act of going between two things at odds with one another and taking on the role of mediator. Thus, your job is to bridge the gap (“stand in the gap”) between the two by going before the Judge(God, the Father) and acting in a person's defense in order to bring reconciliation or peace to a situation.
- The altar of incense was an article of furniture used in the tabernacle of Moses and the temple of Solomon in which smoke rose into the temple's atmosphere releasing a sweet smelling fragrance throughout the temple. The smoke especially rose beyond the veil into the very throne room of the Lord. The bible compares the incense of the altar to prayer, thus symbolizing prayer going into the throne room before God as Judge to hear the prayers (or arguments) of the righteous.
-Once a year the high priest went before the throne of God and sprinkled the BLOOD of Goats and bullocks onto the throne of God, bring atonement, or reconciliation – thereby washing Israel of its sins.
-Jesus shed his Blood to make a final atonement. His Blood is living, thus making an eternal purifying of sins, eternally. Our jobs as intercessors is to bring our cases before the Judge (God, the Father) and remind Him of the ever-living Blood , which was sprinkled upon the throne of God. Hence, who ever we are praying for is free from sin by the Blood.
-The Blood of Jesus acquits us from accusation, because in Heaven, through the Blood of Jesus, we are set free from sin and death. This is why Christ is the ONLY way.
